Franklin Crossroads Class Descriptions
FALL Session 2025 - September 8 to November 18 for Grades 3-6
BLOCK ONE (3-4 PM) MONDAY - THURSDAY
-ACADEMIC SUPPORT (GR 3-6): Need a quiet place to get your work done or get extra help with math, spelling or reading? Adults are available to assist you with your assignments, help you find materials you need and get extra practice with math or reading.
-COMPUTER CLUB (GR 3-6): Do you need to practice your math, reading, and spelling skills? Computer Club is for you. This class will give you a great review for testing using Typing Club, Freckle, Math Fact Lab, Prodigy, and other academic games.
BLOCK ONE (3-4 PM) WEDNESDAY ONLY
-CRAZY 8’S MATH CLUB (GR 3): Bedtime Math presents Crazy 8s, a recreational math club. Our activities – like Glow-in-the-Dark Geometry and Beach Ball Party are just a few examples of fun to have. The activities get students working, building, running and jumping together, so they can bond over math in a whole new way.
MONDAY-THURSDAY TRANSITION TIME (4-4:15 PM)
-WIGGLE TIME (GR 3-6): This will be a time for all students to spend some time together playing games in the gym. They will be able to co-mingle with each other for a short period of time and get to know each other better while having fun.
MONDAYS BLOCK TWO (4:15-5 PM)
-INDOOR/OUTDOOR GAMES (GR 3): This class will get us outside to get some fresh air and exercise with team games. When the weather is rainy, we will move our games inside to the gym.
-MINECRAFT ADVANCED (GR 4-6): In this class, you will get to be creative with this "sandbox video game”, building to construct anything you can imagine. The game includes exploration, gathering resources and interacting with other gamers in the group for teamwork. Come and craft with us!
-THIS & THAT FALL CRAFTS (GR 4-6): Come enjoy being creative. Each project will be set to let you make choices of materials and colors. There is no stress, possibly a little mess, but lots of fun.
TUESDAYS BLOCK TWO (4:15-5 PM)
-MIINECRAFT BEGINNERS (GR 3): In this class, you will get to be creative with this "sandbox video game”, building to construct anything you can imagine. The game includes exploration, gathering resources and interacting with other gamers in the group for teamwork. Come and craft with us!
-PHOTOGRAPHY BEGINNERS (GR 3): This class will give you the opportunity to learn to use a digital camera. You will be taking pictures of interesting things in our area, community, and school with the help of our local Photographer Mr. Pratt. These photos will be displayed for all to enjoy.
-HASTON LIBRARY BOOK CLUB (GR 4-6) (BLOCKS ONE AND TWO): Come take a walk to the Haston Library, join the fun of reading, “The Ugly Duckling and The Emperor's New Clothes,” having a discussion, creating craft to go with our books and to take to the Homestead and make a local senior happy while also doing some journaling. Learn some history about our town library and more. Let’s read some fun books!
-MAGIC THE GATHERING (GR 4-6): Learn how to play this strategic card game and refine your deck building as you play. Cast spells and send creatures into battle against friends, in Magic the Gathering game. Use the elements in your deck to cast magic and summon creatures to your aid to defeat your opponent!
WEDNESDAYS BLOCK TWO (4:15-5 PM)
-CARDBOARD CRAFTS (GR 3): Come design fun crafts with paper, cardboard, boxes, paper books. Let's get creative!
-ART & CRAFT CREATIONS (GR 4-6): In this class, you will be creating some unique art pieces and crafts that will include some Fall themes, and much more. This fun class will not only give you a chance to create a weekly piece but also explore different types of materials you can work with. Let’s get busy crafting.
-INDOOR/OUTDOOR GAMES (GR 4-6): This class will get us outside to get some fresh air and exercise with team games. When the weather is rainy, we will move our games inside to the gym.

You will be taking pictures of interesting things in our area, community, and school with the help of our local Photographer Mr. Pratt. These photos will be displayed for all to enjoy.
THURSDAYS BLOCK TWO (4:15-5 PM)
-NATURE - OCEANS OF FUN! (GR 3): In this class you will get to make fun ocean crafts from ocean animals, slime, Ocean in a bottle and so much more. Come take a dive with us into the ocean.
-FOODS FROM AROUND THE WORLD (GR 4-6) (BLOCKS ONE AND TWO): In this class, students will cook many different recipes from around the world. Breads, food dishes from Italy, France, Vietnam and more. Come and explore the world of cooking. Enjoy two hours learning about, preparing, cleaning, and eating the foods they have made.
-GAME SHUFFLE (GR 4-6): In this class, students will be able to rotate between board games, Wii- in the library, appropriate computer games - in the cafeteria, outdoor games, and fun activities - in the Gym/Outdoors. A great social time for students to spend with friends.
-DUNGEONS & DRAGONS (GR 4-6) (BLOCKS ONE AND TWO): Join your friends on an adventure using the world’s most popular role-playing game. The players will help in guiding their characters through dangerous adventures, searching for treasures, battling deadly enemies, and even carrying out fearless rescues. Your journey is only limited by your imagination. This class has a limit of 6 participants
