Agents of Influence: Be a Game-Changer! Join us for Agents of Influence and help shape the future of gaming! As a member, you'll have the unique opportunity to playtest a brand-new video game, Agents of Influence, and provide valuable feedback to the development team. Be part of something special and leave your mark on the gaming world!

Creative Minds: Are you passionate about art? Creative Minds  is a supportive community where you can develop your artistic skills, explore new techniques, and connect with like-minded individuals. No matter your artistic journey, we have something for everyone. Let's create together!

Homework Help: Are you tired of bringing homework home not having enough time? Join us for homework help which is a relaxing space to get assignments done at your pace, with help around if needed. 

Creative Writing (Story Weavers): Are you interested in storytelling, but find traditional English classes too focused on essays and research? Do you have trouble during the creative process, and would benefit from a supportive environment? MVU Storyweavers features immersive lessons about the craft of writing an engaging piece of work, covering everything from plotting to prose, as well as a place to share work,  get critique, and work on any personal projects.

Recreational “Rec” Games (Located at MVU): Join Mr. Lagasse for fun adventures both inside the gym and outdoors. From archery, to relaxing walks, and golf (and more) this program is for everyone who wants to get up and move after a long day of classes!

Refuel and Ride: Designed for participants in sports, musical or other events that keep you after school, this club offers a post-school snack and convenient 5pm transportation home for those whose activities or practices have concluded. Stay energized and worry-free as you balance academics, extracurriculars and athletics. 

TUESDAYS

Between the Lines: Come hang out in the library and do various activities that are both interesting and relaxing. From watching movies to learning to knit, individual reading and even starting a book club; this program is designed to be flexible to your interests and needs. 

Introduction to Dungeons and Dragons:  Are you new and wanting to learn how to jump into the amazing world of D&D? Embark on an epic adventure led by a fellow student! This class offers a unique opportunity to learn and explore the world of D&D under the guidance of a passionate and creative peer. Join forces with other aspiring adventurers to create unforgettable memories and shape the course of your own campaign.

Milestone C Robotics (GR 7-8 only): Are you interested in the world of robotics and automation? Join us for hands-on activities working with a bio-inspired hexapod robot, and gain practical experience in app development as well as valuable insights into robotics and AI. Must attend Tuesday and Wednesday.

esports: Super Smash Bros (Onsite MVU Team): 8 Spots Available: Get ready to power up your gaming prowess right here at MVU! Join our high-octane esports team geared up for epic showdowns in Super Smash Brothers against schools statewide. But here's the deal: team spots are limited, and every practice is your ticket to victory. Commitment is key—your presence at each session is crucial to secure your spot and conquer the competition. Don't miss out on the chance to be part of this thrilling gaming experience! Students who participate in this esports team must commit to matches that are held Wednesdays and practices that are held Fridays. 

esports: Super Smash Bros (Located off site at Northwest Access TV Beginning 10/01/25): Please see above for description of esports Super Smash Bros- this off site program offers the thrilling experience described above, in a less competitive framework!  Students enrolled in this program will have the option to attend the Rec Games program on Wednesdays until this program begins.

Youth Council (Up for Learning): Make a difference in your community! You know what teens in our area want and need. Come help plan, collaborate and develop a project idea that would benefit local youth. Successful proposals will have the opportunity to manage thousands of dollars and make their project a reality.

THURSDAYS

Board Game Club: Looking for a fun and inclusive community? Join MVU’s board game club! We meet on Thursday’s to play a variety of games, from classic favorites to the latest releases. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just starting out, everyone is welcome to join the fun. 

Dungeons and Dragons: Into the Fey: Dive deep into the magical and mystical world of the Feywild in this custom D&D adventure with an experienced Dungeon Master at the helm and guiding you. This class offers a guided exploration of the game's mechanics, lore, and strategic gameplay. Learn from a seasoned pro as you navigate challenging encounters, solve intricate puzzles, and uncover hidden secrets that the Fey are hiding from the world and could prevent a bigger threat from destroying the world. Please note this course of D&D is designed for players who have foundational knowledge already of the game.

Fridays at the Rec: Join us every Friday at the Swanton Recreation Center for a fun-filled afternoon! Beyond the Bell has partnered with the Swanton Recreation Center to create a welcoming space for teens to hang out and explore their interests. 

Swanton Library:  Teen Makerspace: Discover your passions at the Swanton Library every Friday!. Get hands-on with the awesome tools in the maker space, like 3D printers, free art materials, button makers and more! Feeling more low-key? Grab a great book, find a comfy spot in the Teen Room, and chill with friends. It's your space, your time!
